Here's what I put together for them:
Although we live in Australia now (and have done for over 20 years), my parents are born and breed kiwis. So, I designed a candy buffet with a distinct New Zealand flavour. Mallowpuffs, pineapple lumps, jaffas, L&P, rashuns, pinky bars, perky nanas & buzz bars were all featured.
Nothing beats a good old fashioned New Zealand lolly.
(Readers from NZ will know what I'm talking about!)
I went with a ruby red and lemon colour scheme because the 40th Wedding Anniversary is celebrated with Ruby and my mum's bridesmaids wore lemon
My parents fave NZ lollies wrapped in metallic ruby red card and decorated with lemon ribbon and some bling.
My mum's flower girl (her sister) carried a lemon parasol on the wedding day.
I hunted everywhere for a lemon one,
but this lace cream parasol was the closest I could find...thankyou eBay!
It looks lovely, and what a gift for your parents. And what a gift they have given you, 40 years of commitment to their marriage is a wonderful model to have. Jane:)
