On Sunday the hubster and I rocked it out at A Day on the Green which is basically just an excuse for people in their 30's, 40's & 50's to relive their youth while getting trashed on not so cheap wine. It's very, very outdoorsy, which, as we all know, I find difficult to cope with. I mean look at the drinking conditions I was forced to endure....
Yes, that's me.
Drinking out of the world's tiniest plastic cup.
One big swig and the vino was gone.
Less than ideal, but I powered through.
And then there was the First World Problem of what do to with your empties....
Apparently you just throw them under the seat in front of you.
Along with a half eaten packet of Chicken in a Biscuit.
Because that's what you do when you think you're going to a concert,
but you're actually ALMOST EFFING CAMPING.
Which brings me to the toileting situation.
UNISEX portaloo anyone?
Sadly the loos didn't come with any hardcore disinfectant arrangement, but they did come with this instructional poster on the door. Which was very handy because I had no idea how to flush the damn thing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, my idea of camping is not having an ensuite. This situation was just too much like actual camping for my liking.
But it wasn't all doom and gloom. The concert itself was fabulous and there were some definite Crowd Highlights. Like when the bloke in the red hat & his wife arrived. All the people around me lost their minds....including the people we were with....because apparently they're quite the famous couple.
For those of you playing along at home, my sources tell me he's a well known country singer and she's my husband's celebrity crush from BK (That would be Before Kirsten. Obviously)
Noiseworks were brilliant.
Jon Stevens is what can only be described as Hot.
For an old bloke.
And he has an amazing voice.
That he's welcome to serenade me with at anytime.
And I bet he didn't have to traipse through these dreadful Outdoorsy Conditions
at the end of the night to find his car.
I was boozed, cold and my ears were ringing.
Best.Night.Ever.
How about you?
Were you at A Day on the Green?
And did you cope with the camping conditions?
Tell me everything....
Call me dumb but I have no idea who the celebrity couple is - lol!!!
ReplyDeleteNot dumb at all...I didn't know who he was either....it's Troy Cassar-Daley and Laurel Edwards. He's a country singer and she's on tv & radio here in Brisbane.
DeleteLOL!!!!!! Cracking up as per!
ReplyDeleteloving the 'as per' bit. Think that might have to become my new favourite saying x
