I don't know about you, but this week has been full on. Things started off beautifully, as I finally got around to using a gift voucher that Scott & the kids gave me for my birthday...
L'Plunge is the most beautiful day spa, located in Cleveland, Brisbane and you totally need to get yourself there ASAP. The facial I had was lovely, the treatment rooms are amazing and afterwards they serve you the most beautiful refreshments, while you sit on the enclosed verandah and do some hardcore daydreaming.
But, contrary to popular belief, it's not all dayspas and daydreams around here. It was back to reality on Tuesday, which was a day filled with housework, laundry and baking. All boring, except for the baking, which I'm slightly obsessed with. Here's what I whipped up this week...Chocolate Chip Breakfast Scone (recipe to follow shortly)
Tuesday night involved watching the Diamond Jubilee concert and boring Scott senseless with stories of my Grandmother and her hardcore love of all things Royal.
Oh, and there might have been a bit of lusting over Robbie Williams involved too.
On my part. Not Scott's.
Now Wednesday was what only can be described as a Good Day. Because, lovely readers, I hit the shops and I hit them hard.
Yes, they are all my bags. No, I don't shop so intensely all the time. Well, ok, maybe I do. But in my defence, everyone has a talent. Shopping just happens to be mine. Especially when the sales are on, because I never pay full retail for anything. Ever. And neither should you. For those of you playing along at home, here's what was in those mountains of bags....
Meanwhile, over on Twitter, I was beside myself with excitement when the good people at Myer tweeted me. Totes made my year. And yes, Myer definitely is My Store.
Thursday was spent getting my car serviced. I know. It's non-stop glamour around these parts. When I checked the car in, the lovely lady behind the counter informed me that the service would take 3-4 hours and asked...wait for it..."Would you like our courtesy car driver to drop you off at the local shopping centre for the day?" Um, that would be a yes.
So Thursday was spent wandering aimlessly around a shopping centre, which wasn't as fun as it sounds. Partly because it wasn't a Westfield (insert sad face here) but mainly because apparently the wearing of shoes and/or a bra were totally optionally at this particular mall. Add that Visual Trauma to the 5 minutes I spent trying to escape some random who bailed me up in the cookbook section of Kmart, asking me if I knew how to make rissoles. Or Pumpkin Soup. Did I know how to make pumpkin soup? and I was more than ready for a stiff drink. Except I couldn't drink, because I had to get the kids from school, tear home, throw some afternoon tea at them, before driving them to karate and sitting in the freezing cold car for 1.5 hours while they hi-ya'd their way through their lesson. Told you it wasn't all effing dayspas and daydreams!
Which brings me to Friday. Today. Which, after yesterday's traumatic experiences, will be filled with lots of soothing blogging, tweeting, facebooking and pinteresting. Oh and a little bit of party prep, because this little blog turns 1 on Monday. Stay tuned for a fresh new look on the blog and a little bit of a giveaway to celebrate!
How about you?
Have you had a good week or are you in dire need of a cup of tea and a lie down?
Tell me everything...
Please note, this was not a sponsored post. L'Plunge, Myer and the braless, shoeless people at my local shopping centre did not compensate me in any way for my thoughts, opinions and endless praise. Although they totally should have because nowhere in our budget is there any spare cash for
a) the appointment Scott will need to make with a cardiologist to investigate his chest pains, which may or may not be related to my shopping habits and
b) the appointment I will need to make with the day spa to recover from yesterday's traumatic visuals.

MYER
