brave women

So today Sophie and I went to the movies to see Brave, which FYI, featured several scenes that scared the living daylights out of 7 year old Sophie.

Anyho, before the movie started we sat through the ads and one came on the screen advertising a local OB/GYN service.  Sophie sat mesmerised by the talk of the wonderful gynos and obstetricians who would be more than happy to help you, should you be having a baby anytime soon.  There were lots of smiling pregnant ladies featured, along with two quite handsome male gynos who quite clearly have found their calling in life.  When the ad was finished, Sophie turned to me and said in a very loud voice

"That will be me one day."

To which I replied, "What?  A doctor?"

She looked up at me, her big brown eyes sparkling with excitement and answered in an almost dreamlike tone, "No.  A woman."

Um, oookkkaaay then.

Sophie, all dressed and ready to be taken home from the hospital.
The poor kid will be devastated when she's old enough for the little chat about what being a woman is *really* like.  Such a shame that they have to grow up...I think I'd prefer it if I could keep Sophie 7 forever xox
