Ok, so last night I tuned into Chanel 10's new show, The Shire. It was totes cringeworthy and honestly, the twitter feed was far more entertaining than the show itself. In case you're not sure what I'm on about, here's a quick run down on some the of the key players...
Ok, so these two lovely girls are Sophie and Vernessa. Yes, Vernessa. With an r. I know it's hard to tell from the photo, but these two "have fake boobs, fake hair, fake teeth, fake eyelashes, fake tans and botox" But they're, like, so totally real. Together they discuss all the hard-hitting issues, like "do you reckon you'd rather have a smart kid or an attractive kid?" and one of them even owns a fat blasting machine, so they like, never have to work out. Winning.
Here are the guys. Don't ask me what their names are. I was too shocked by the fact that only one of them had a Southern Cross tattoo to actually catch their names.
And this bird has just got back from Dubai. Where "The shopping was so amazing. They had all the top labels there like Gucci, Guess and Thomas Sabo." Um, oookkaaay then. Oh and some bloke picked her up from the airport in a limo, sat waaaay to close to her for my liking and spent a lot of time asking really weird questions. I could't figure out if it was her father or some random she'd met on RSVP. Turns out, creepy hands on guy was HER DAD. Eeewww.
So there we have it peeps. Another quality Aussie 'reality' tv show. I don't know about you, but if that's the real world I'm totes worried for our future.
How about you? Did you waste 30 minutes of your life watching The Shire? Or was I the only one....

I missed it but you were right about the Twitter feed! I was very amused by some of the comments without actually knowing what they were about...
ReplyDeleteYeah, the twitter feed had me in stitches! You can watch it online, if you want to see what all the bogan fuss is about ;)
DeleteI know it was mindless crap, but I will sure as hell be watching next week. I found it hilarious and really enjoyed our running "HG Nelson" commentary on Twitter. The Shire is what I call a serious break away from reality, that half hour I do indeed need each week.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you Beth! I'll definitely be tuning in again next week...it was the funniest thing I've watched in ages :)
DeleteDamn - I missed it and yes there has been so much talk about it - that I wish I had of seen it!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can watch it online - just click on the link in the post that says 'the shire' and it'll take you to the show's page....if you dare lol!!
