Sophie embraced the Nautical Look and declared that this was the boat for us as it was only "41 dollars and 90 cents." Um, no, actually that would be 41 thousand 900 hundred dollars. Minor price difference.
Sunday I finally got round to framing my Parisian themed instagram poster, which just quietly, looks The Business. For those of you playing along at home, the frame was purchased from the hell hole that is IKEA and I am proud to say that I managed to get in and out of the store in 12 minutes. Yes, I power walked Kath & Kim style through the entire building until I reached the frames, grabbed the one I wanted, headed to the self check out and got out of there, all with buying ONLY ONE THING. Say what you will about me, but I know how to shop. And stay on budget. And resist the urge to fill my Ikea trolly with various random items that I don't actually need. Fairly sure I have some sort of gift. All that framing/manual labour on a Sunday made me hungry, so I whipped up a salad, using ingredients from my besties Hobby Farm. Was delicious x1000.
Made the kids a batch of butterscotch biscuits and may have inhaled two or three of them myself.
So after a fairly busy weekend, Monday was spent at home doing what can only be described as Domestic Duties. I know. The glamour never ends. In between all the vacuuming, washing and floor mopping, I did manage to come up with a creative way of using a vintage coca cola crate I purchased a while ago. It's now a storage unit for Bailey's random items in his wardrobe....On Tuesday afternoon I walked through the doors of a local medical centre and BAM! It was 1978. Seriously.
Can we all just take a moment to discuss the decor. And the filing system. And the carpet. Which I might add, was only recently installed. I know this because every single patient who walked through the doors greeted the receptionist with the words "Oh, there's new carpet. Lovely colour." oookaaay then.
Wednesday was a bit of a highlight, as I went to my very first Bloggers Meet Up. Yep, I totally rocked up to a morning tea where I was meeting people I'd only ever seen pictures of online. Which wasn't as weird as it sounds but still kind of felt like going on a blind date, only without the awkwardness. Thanks so much to Janet from Redland City Living for organising the event! It was a great morning and I was just a little bit beside myself when I met so many awesome bloggers.
Ok, so don't hate me, but Thursday was spent here:
Yep, I spent the morning at my favourite day spa, which happens to have the most fabulous decor. Makes me want to paint all the furniture in my house white and buy shares in a flower farm.
Cup of herbal berry tea, glass of champers, some sort of homemade biscuit arrangement and enough chocolate to send me into a sugar coma at 10.30 in the morning? Don't mind if I do. Thanks kids, for the awesome Mother's Day present. Feel free to buy exactly the same one for the next 15 years.
And so now it's Friday. My favourite day of the week. Not sure what I'm going to do today, but I do know that this afternoon will be spent trying to tame my daughter's long, wild curls into a braid before heading back to school to watch her sing a song on stage that will last approximately 1.5 minutes. After which I will be forced to sit politely in the audience for another 1.5 HOURS watching all the other children/choirs/teachers sing. Welcome to my Friday Night. Bet you wish yours was as awesome as mine.
We totally should have worn red roses on Wednesday! Esp with another mums and bubs group meeting there. I greeted a lovely woman pushing a pram and said my usual "name and blog" intro - only to have her look at me strangely and say, "I think I'm with the other group"... D'OH ... how embarrassment!
ReplyDeleteYou must tell me all about that day spa. You must! Enjoy yourself tonight. So wish I could come! LOL
