the friday five

Look, I'm not going to lie.  Life has never been the same since Oprah decided to axe her own show.  I mean, 1pm Monday to Friday has never been the same since she left our tv screens to hang out with Steadman and Gail more often.  But it's not all bad.  I've since managed to find a few shows that have filled the void. Just.  So here we go with this week's Friday Five.  Enjoy.

1  //  The Block.  I have a total love/hate relationship with this current series.  Most of the contestants whinge and whine more than my kids do when I say no to them at the shops, but they're 8 and 12.  Not fully grown adults who signed up to a reality show of their own free will and knew what was ahead of them. These non-stop whinging, ungrateful 20 and 30 somethings do my head in.  How about you?

2  //  Real Housewives of Wherever.  Love this show sick.  Especially the OC franchise.  I mean, there really is nothing better than watching a group of semi cashed up, botoxed to the hilt, starving women self destruct before your very eyes to make you hardcore appreciative of  your own fairly ordinary life.

3  //  The Great Australian Bake Off.  I know this show hasn't even started yet, but the ads for it look intense.  Who knew that throwing a bit of flour and sugar together could be so stressful?  Not me, that's for sure.

4  //  The Ellen Show.  I don't watch this show often but when I do I usually end up with something in my eye.  You know, because Ellen has a heart of gold and is always giving away great wads of cash to very deserving viewers.  Imagine being able to do that for people every.single.day.  Incredible.  Oh and every now and again she has some sort of shirtless hot guy on the show flogging her underwear, which is a bit of fun for us Desperate Housewives to watch.  Or so I've heard.

5  //  Keeping Up With The Kardashians.  Because when I grow up I really, really want to be famous for doing nothing.  Not to mention host book signings where everyone has to pay 50 bucks to meet me and another 100 bucks to get a picture with me.  Talk about living the dream.  Those girls totally are.

How about you?  Got a show you love/hate?  Do tell....

  2. Can't say I've watched any of those except maybe Ellen occasionally. I love the dance scene in the beginning and that's it. That bloody Great Australian Bake Off is like the second coming of Christ. No one knows exactly when its going to happen but it will happen or it supposed to be this week, isn't it? I've got Foxtel and I've become addicted to Katie. She's pretty good as an Oprah replacement. Has all the big named stars, diet shows, cooking shows, etc etc that Oprah used to have. And I'm addicted to UK soaps unfortunately. I also love the rubbish reality TV Australia puts out. The Mole at the moment, Marry My Son(?), Beauty meets a Geek(?) and The Bachelor/Bachelorette from the US. Now that is cringeworthy. LOL It sounds like I'm addicted to TV. LOL
