So this morning the husband made a passing comment that he didn't really rate what the Easter Bunny had left him, which FYI, was a packet of Kinder Surprise Easter Eggs. Now to be fair to the Easter Bunny, she'd one hell of a week before Easter, what with the kids on school holidays and not being able to get to the shops without the kids in tow, blah blah blah, so when said husband mentioned on Easter Eve that he was looking forward to getting his usual packet of Cadbury Creme Eggs in the morning, the Easter Bunny may or may not have panicked.
For she knew that there were in fact, zero Cadbury Creme Eggs on their way.
Partly because husband is nearly 40 and probably just a bit too old for Easter Eggs but mainly because she just couldn't be bothered buying them.
So, being the problem solver that she is, the Easter Bunny rattled through what eggs she could find, rearranged what the kids would be receiving and viola!
Kinder Surprise eggs were on their way to the husband's bed side table.

Creme Egg loving husband
and Easter Bunny Ear wearing daughter share a moment,
Easter 2011.
On a random side note, I really hope our daughter will grow out of the bunny ear phase.
Because every time I see her in them,
I can't help thinking that if she doesn't stop wearing them,
this could well be in her future.
Anyho, fast forward to today, almost one week later, and those Kinder Surprise Eggs had not been opened. And so the comment was made that the husband was not a fan of that particular chocolate, which was followed up with "do you think you could buy me some sort of chocolate treat when you're out at the shops today?" Well as luck would have it, I most certainly could.....
I'll take your crappy Kinder Surprise Chocolates
and raise you the entire half price easter egg aisle at Coles.
It's what I do.
How about you?
Does your 30 something husband still like to receive Easter Eggs?
Or is it just mine?
*this was not a sponsored post by any maker of chocolate.
Thank god.
Because I've eaten so much of the stuff in the last week,
I think I've developed diabetes*
My husband would be jealous, you are so much nicer than me! Any complaints on Easter bunny goods and they get confiscated (and eaten!) by me in our house ;)
ReplyDeleteI like your idea of confiscating and eating any eggs that are met with complaints! I might have to follow that rule next year ;)
DeleteLol I have only just come across your blog and this post has me giggling. My hubby isn't a huge chocolate eater and not normally fussed about getting anything for easter but he does love those darn creme eggs!! Most easters I will buy him a couple of them and he is happy but this year he took matters into his own hands and bought an entire box (the 40 pack) of Cadbury Creme Eggs!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are both on a diet, so I'd like to see how his diet goes with those little babies staring him in the face lol.
Welcome! And thanks for commenting. It's made my day :)
DeleteI'd better not tell my husband that you can purchase a 40 pack of creme eggs, because he'd be whipping out to buy one asap. (Have I mentioned our dentist loves it when my husband eats so much sugar....I think my husband's fillings have paid for many of his dentist's overseas holidays!)
My husband has to be held back from eating mine and the kids chocolates....he is all out and still trying to eat mine!
ReplyDeleteLOL! What's with our husbands and chocolate easter eggs?! Anyone would think they never eat chocolate at any other time of the year!
DeleteMy husband is not really to bothered about chocolate, he did however buy me a copy of "Frankie" magazine and said that was my Easter present ! Did you know that the cadburys cream eggs are imported from the UK, I know this because being Irish, the Cadburys chocolate here taste completely different to at home, so when I discovered they were imported lets just say I did a happy dance !!
ReplyDeleteMy poor husband got nothing for Easter, not that he was too bothered.
That was very thoughtful of your husband to buy you the Frankie magazine! And no, I didn't know that about the creme eggs, but it explains a lot as my husband is from Scotland and is always banging on about how the creme eggs remind him of his childhood!!
DeleteMy 40 something husband loves his chocolate in the shape of a bunny, traditionally he has had a Cadbury or Red Tulip bunny ... one year I decided to lash out and get him a beautiful gold Lindt bunny thinking I was being very generous ... when he saw it all he could say was where are the ears?! (this bunny had different shaped ears!) ... apparently that is what he likes to do, chomp into long bunny ears! So it was good old Cadbury all the way this year! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm loving all these husband/easter egg stories that are coming through. It's very comforting to know that I'm not the only one with a husband who has 'Easter Egg Issues' x
DeleteHa! That's a classic! My husband is an unabashed chocolate snob so it was a Lindt pack for him. Brilliant idea re the half price eggs. I saw them today & they are practically giving them away!
ReplyDeleteUgh, the eggs are SO cheap now. Would it be wrong of me to move Easter back a week next year? I'm guessing not...the kids and husband wouldn't be too thrilled about that cheapskate idea!
DeleteMy hubby isn't a big chocolate eater. All he received from the Easter bunny this year was a Lindt bunny. Thanks for saying hi on my blog yesterday! x
ReplyDeleteYou're hubby sounds very sensible...chocolate is my downfall!!
DeleteLove reading your blog and thanks so much for swinging by and taking the time to comment. Appreciate it :)
