Matchy Matchy Goodness

Look, I don't want to alarm anyone but after years of neglecting my fingernails, I've taken the leap and embraced The Manicure.  And as a result my fingers and toes totally match...

In other news, Ita Buttrose* called.  She wants her look back.  Oh, and she also wanted to remind me that I am in fact turning 40 next year, not 73.

*for those not in the know, Ita Buttrose is a well known media personality in Australia.  She was the founding editor of Cleo and Australian Women's Weekly back in the day and is a hardcore fan of the power suit, impeccable manners and matchy-matchy nail polish & lipgloss.  I think she might be my hero.

How about you?  Do you embrace The Matching Mani Pedi or are you more of a wear and tear kind of girl?  Tell me everything....

  1. I have trouble with the whole madi pedi thing, basically it starts at the beginning when I paint mostly my skin and not my nails and then withing thirty seconds of painting them it starts to chip away until its a tacky mess and my toes... that is a whole other story. I WISH I could embrace the whole package of m/p but alas no, oh and I wish I wore lipstick too... don't ask. x

    1. Tara, I feel your pain. I'm also not skilled at applying my own nail polish. But there is this wonderful new Revlon nail bar at my local Myer that will paint them for $15. Totes Winning. And I don't do lipstick either...I'm a lipgloss girl through and through. Never leave home without it!

    1. Allison, I used to be a dreadful nail biter. But the whole mani thing sorted that out. A lick of bright polish and I've totally stopped biting my nails. Wish I'd committed to the whole matching mani pedi thing years ago!

  3. I was watching morning television and Ita popped up. I've got to say, I wasn't digging her look. She certainly didn't look as polished as in that picture. Her face looked as though she was in a perpetual state of surprise!

Anyway, I do love a mani pedi. In the warmer months it's my one indulgence every month.
