happy anniversary

Ok, so here's the thing.  I sat down to write a post about how today is our wedding anniversary and how the day Scott & I were married was the happiest day of my life.  But it just sounded so cheesy and to be honest, a little bit sickening.  Which, when I stop and think about it, totally describes the two of us.

yes, I wore a huge tulle meringue and my bridesmaids wore gold.
That's how we rolled in 1997.

I mean, he's all cheese, all the time (totally wooed me with lines from Top Gun back in the day) and as a couple we really are quite sickening (we hardly ever argue, we make each other laugh everyday and, perhaps most importantly, he never raises an eyebrow at me when the credit card statement arrives.  I know.  Totes hit the jackpot when I cracked onto him at a grotty old pub way back in 1994.)

So instead of boring you with a glowing report of our life together and/or leaving you with some soppy quote about love, I'll leave you with this little chestnut.  Because it's one of Scott's favourites and it's said a lot around here.  Like I said, he's all cheese, all the time.  And that, lovely readers, is why I love him.

Oh and Scott, I know you read this blog, so thanks for my wedding anniversary present.  I love it. Even though I wrote this post on Monday, a solid 5 days out from our anniversary and have no idea what the present actually is.  I'm just assuming you've gone in hard with the gifting this year.  You know, to make up for the fact that last year, for the first time ever, you didn't give me a bloody thing.  Not even a card.  But don't worry.  I'm very forgiving, never hold grudges and always keep things like that to myself.  Your gift giving fail is safe with me xox

  1. Happy Anniversary! I love your humor and you need that to be in a successful marriage. I hope you enjoyed your day of celebrating.

  2. Now I want to know if he remembered before or after the post and what your gorgoeus gift turned out to be! Mainly because my wedding anniversary last week came and went with hardly a mention by my hubby!

  3. As always, very funny. You sound like a very lucky lady. Our anniversary is also this month and we quite often forget. That's terrible, isn't it, Muriel?! Nikki x
