the friday five

#1  //  hot pink boat shoes from Aldo. 50 bucks people. Run, don't walk.

#2  //  Jamie Oliver's new cookbook, 15 minute meals.  Two words:  Life Changing.  And no, I'm not kidding.  Thanks to Jamie's awesome recipes, I can belt out a healthy family meal in under 20 minutes.  Which I kind of always could do before, but now they're tastier than ever and totally make me feel like I could have my own cooking show.  Which, let's face it, isn't that what everyone thinks when they're whipping up a storm in the kitchen?  No?  Hmmm. Must just be me.

#3  //  Baking with the kids.  Cos it's all sorts of genius.  Not only does it teach the kids maths & science concepts (weight, measurement, time, what happens if we pour the wet ingredients into the dry stuff...blah, blah, blah) but it also shows them that good, healthy food is easy to prepare and maybe, just maybe, they might actually leave home in 10 years time knowing how to throw together a three course meal complete with coffee and cake for dessert.  In between hangovers of course.  Because this mum realises that despite her best efforts, she probably won't raise hardcore church going, non drinking, clean eating vegans.

#4  //  Gift Wrapping.  I don't know what's happened to me but lately I've totally gone all Tonya Todman (total 90's reference, sorry for those too young to understand) and have been a gift wrapping machine.  Feel free to hold an intervention when I start blogging about the joys of dried flower arrangements and DIY hats that co-ordinate with your Melbourne Cup outfit.

#5  //  Party Planning.  Because Sophie's birthday is only 8 weeks away.  I know.  I've totally left this one to the last minute.  Probably because I've been too busy wrapping gifts while strutting around in my hot pink shoes.  Priorities people.  It's all about priorities.

How about you?  What are you loving at the moment?  Do tell....

PS:  This, like almost every other post, is totally unsponsored.  Aldo, Jamie Oliver and Tonya Todman did not send me any shoes, cook books and/or dried floral arrangements in exchange for my glowing reviews.  But their people should totally call my people because a girl can never have too many shoes, good recipes and/or crafty goodness in her life.  Or maybe that's just me?
