Step One: whip up a basic Butter Cake batter (google will give you a good recipe)
Step Two: divide the batter into 3 bowls
Step Three: colour the batter in each bowl. I went for hot pink, black and left the last bowl as it was. Here's a series of visuals.
Step Four: plop tablespoons of batter into your tin. (yes, plop is a word)
and smooth the top of the mixture....
Step Five: Bake it in your crappy oven that always, always, produces lop sided cakes....
Step Six: let the cake cool then ice it up baby....
Step Seven: Whack a star on top and you're good to go!
Step Eight: Serve it to your guests, who may or may not lick the icing off the top and throw the rest in the bin....which is exactly why you'd never get me paying top dollar for a birthday cake!
K&Co. over & out xox
I can't believe how good the black color looks in the cake - might be the perfect pink icing job!
