So are we sick of hearing about my 40th yet? No? Excellent. Because today we're chatting about how I'm going to be celebrating. Yep, after months of trying to decide if I should have a party or not, I've finally decided to have one. Nothing huge, just a small get together with my closest family and friends. Which of course still requires some hardcore planning and colour scheming. Here's a visual...
1. Moet Ice Imperial will be the drink of choice. Of course.
2. Gold noodle boxes will be filled with yummy snacks. Naturally.
3. A croquembouche birthday cake might make an appearance. Although with only 10 people being invited, we might be eating croquembouche for weeks. Maybe I'll skip the cake altogether and order more drinks instead? Seems like a logical solution.
4. I think I might need to go shopping for new shoes and/or accessories. Any excuse.
5. Loving these Thank You notes. I'll probably whip up my own, but these are a great inspiration.
6. The colour scheme is black, white and gold. Because I think we all now by know that I do love me a bit of bling. And nothing says bling like glittery gold.I'm also thinking I might need a splash of hot pink somewhere? Maybe a small centrepiece of pink flowers? Any other suggestions? Please discuss...
Wish I could come over for it!! I so would have! :( Damn it!

Dal! I can't believe we didn't plan this better :(
DeleteI haven't tried the Moet Ice Imperial yet. I'm looking forward to it. I love your colour scheme and you definitely need new clothes, accessories etc and I'm also with the more drinks less cake idea!
ReplyDeleteDon't stop sharing your plans I love all your party ideas xx
I'm with you re: shopping, more drinks less cake and the non stop oversharing of party ideas. So pleased you're on aboard with it all :)
DeleteI am still in utter shock that you are so old
ReplyDeleteYou and me both....whoever you are!!
DeleteUmmm! Love the colour scheme! Especially the thank you notes! Also... It's a party... Cake is required... Lol. This coming from a girl who doesn't 'do' cake. So perhaps stick a candle on top of a unopened bottle and call it good. x
ReplyDeleteLoving your idea about a candle on top of an unopened bottle! Thanks Tara x
DeleteGreat ideas! I celebrated my 40th by running away to a deserted island for a week ... well Coochie is kinda deserted ... L(OL
ReplyDeleteI like that idea Janet!
DeleteSo I think you need a chauffeur for your shopping expedition and I have just the car for it! After the Moet, you would forget you had the cake anyway! I don't think I own anything in any of those colours so it looks like I may need a new wardrobe also :)
ReplyDeleteYes, a chauffeur driven shopping trip sounds perfect! And you raise an excellent point re: moet v cake :)
DeleteVery stylish indeed Kirsten.
